Kyrgyzstan outlines plans on construction of Line D of gas main Central Asia – China
At the end of 2019 Kyrgyzstan will start construction of its segment of the fourth branch of the transnational gas pipeline Central Asia-China, originating in Turkmenistan. The plans of the Kyrgyz side on the laying of the transit segment of the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan-China have been disclosed Chairman of the State Committee of industry, energy and mineral resources of Ulanbek Ryskulov as reported by News Agency "Kabar". The project worth US $ 1.2 billion will be realized by the Chinese company SINO-Pipeline International Company Limited, subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). 215-km lengthy pipeline (out of a total 1000 km) with a capacity of 3 billion cubic meters of gas will stretch on the territory of the Chon-Alai and Alai districts of the Osh region, as well as through the border villages of Nura and the Karamyk. It will be commissioned after three years, supposedly by the end of 2022. The construction of line D with capacity of up to 30 billion cubic meters of gas was launched in 2014. Earlier December, the total volume of gas exported to China from Central Asia has reached 200 billion cubic meters. Central Asian gas feeds 300 million population of the 27 Chinese provinces, municipalities and districts.
