The best practices of Uzbekistan in the field of labor reforms were discussed in Ashgabat


On May 29, 2024 the USAID funded Activity "Safe Migration in Central Asia" organized a follow-up roundtable to discuss the results of the study visit on familiarization with Uzbekistan best practice in labor reforms. The event was attended by representatives from government structures of Turkmenistan and international organizations.

The opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Jeff Scarin, the USAID representative in Turkmenistan, who emphasized the importance of the project and the need for collaboration in enhancing labor standards. The Uzbek colleagues provided a comprehensive overview of the visit and shared insights on the labor reforms implemented in Uzbekistan.

Throughout the round table, participants exchanged opinions, shared lessons learned, and explored opportunities for further cooperation in the field. The discussions focused on key challenges and solutions in enhancing labor standards in the region.

The event served as a platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange, highlighting the shared commitment to advancing labor rights and ensuring safe and dignified work opportunities for all.
