Needlework as a way to achieve harmony
Deep at her heart, every girl is clever with needle that is why Bossan Kerimova, who lives in the Gubadag region of Turkmenistan, at her spare time, deals with knitting, sewing, and embroidering, giving beauty and new life to simple and ordinary things. In the home of the craftswoman, hand-made items are everywhere as once you step over the threshold you understand that a person of creative nature lives here.
Skilled craftswoman sews soft toys, dolls, dresses them up in clothes, which she creates, and makes lovely animals, fairy tale characters as well as baskets from cardboard and pieces of rags.
To the question: “How did you come up with this creative activity?” Bossan answers quite simply: “I like when everything around is beautiful, bright and interesting. Therefore, I decided that it would always be unusual and original in my home.”
As a matter of fact, the creative talent of the needlewoman comes from her very childhood. The passion for needlework was passed on from her mother, and then new ideas began to appear, which over time had come true.
“I try to do needlework in a good mood,” the craftswoman shares her secrets. “Most of the orders come from schools and kindergartens, and therefore this job gives me great pleasure and joy. Sometimes I can get deep involved in creative process so I forget about the time – I cannot go sleep until I my next creation item is not finished.”
Hand-made items made by the rural needlewoman have already been presented at various exhibitions held in Turkmenistan. Indeed, she has something to show and share. Needlework pieces of the craftswoman admire everyone who is acquainted with.
