The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Turkmenistan, in collaboration with the UNDP Knowledge Project, is joining the FutureSkills4All Initiative to enhance youth employment opportunities by providing learning and skill development opportunities for young people and women in Turkmenistan. This skill building activity is part of the Country Component of the Regional Project on “Promoting Resilient Communities to Prevent Violent Extremism (PVE) in Central Asia” funded by the Government of Japan and implemented by the UNDP in Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan.

Within the framework of the country component of the regional PVE project at least 660 young people from Turkmenistan can gain access to COURSERA, a cutting-edge online learning platform, where they can follow various learning pathways to acquire in-demand skills. This innovative approach to vocational training will help learners prepare for a competitive and rapidly changing job market. Beyond accessing online courses tailored to their interests, learners will also receive guidance and mentorship from local experts to enhance their coping skills and build resilience.

FutureSkills4All provides a personalized learning experience, offering three core areas to choose from: Transferable Skills (like communication and problem-solving), Entrepreneurial Skills (such as business planning and marketing), and Hard/Technical Skills (specific to various industries). Learners can customize their training by selecting the industry that aligns with their interests and career goals.

In addition to the core areas, participants can explore a range of topics and acquire specialized skills, such as globalization, economic growth, artificial intelligence, foundational digital skills, accounting, marketing, human resources, IT support, cloud computing, UX/UI design, cybersecurity, project management, renewable energy, sustainable cities, and more. Each pathway is structured to suit different expertise levels, allowing learners to build the competencies required to succeed in their chosen fields.

How to Enroll:

Third-Party Nominations: Government departments, non-profits, socially oriented private companies, CSOs, and other partnering entities are invited to nominate young people to benefit from this online learning opportunity. To participate, complete this form to receive information on available learning pathways.

Direct Enrollment: Young people aged 16 to 35, including women residing in Turkmenistan can directly enroll by filling out this online application form.

The UNDP in Turkmenistan will kick off the FutureSkills4All Initiative with an information session at the UN House in Ashgabat on May 16, 2024, at 3 PM.
