Meeting of the Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum with the Turkmenistan delegation

During the meeting at the ministry, the Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Sheikh Al-Hadith Shahabuddin Dilawar, the CEO of the TAPI Pipeline Company Limited, and the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Kabul engaged in detailed discussions about the progress and various critical elements of the TAPI project.

The Acting Minister warmly welcomed the attendees, characterizing Turkmenistan as a valued neighbor and a brotherly nation. He underscored the enhancement of political, economic, and security ties with regional and neighboring countries, including Turkmenistan, as a priority of the foreign policy pursued by Afghanistan.

Furthermore, he articulated the strategic importance of enhancing bilateral relations and addressed various pertinent issues, emphasizing that the TAPI project's implementation is crucial not only for Afghanistan but also advantageous for three other nations, with no existing hurdles to its execution within Afghanistan.

The CEO of the TAPI Pipeline Company Limited acknowledged positively with the productive dialogue with the ministry’s leadership and elaborated on the project’s recent progress, particularly highlighting the practical and technical aspects and outlining forthcoming steps.

The discussions also ventured into accelerating the pace of work, with both parties agreeing to set up dedicated working groups to effectively coordinate all aspects of the project. Additionally, it was acknowledged that successfully carrying out the TAPI project would showcase to the global community the viable opportunities for investment and employment available in Afghanistan.

The Acting Minister expressed profound appreciation for the sustained support from the leadership of Turkmenistan towards the TAPI project and reiterated the urgent need for its swift implementation, while ensuring complete support from his side.
