Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to France Maksat Charyev met with Professor of the Higher School of Music of Paris (L’ecole Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot) Sergei Markarov. The Turkmen diplomatic mission reports this.

The parties expressed their readiness to develop fruitful cooperation between specialized educational institutions of the two countries.

In particular, the possibility of interaction between the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kulieva and the Higher School of Music of Paris in the field of training talented pianists was discussed.

The École Supérieure de Paris was founded by one of France's greatest pianists of the 20th century, Alfred Cortot, in order to maintain the cultural prestige of France and to develop great teachers and virtuosos through holistic pedagogy. Currently, students from various countries are educated at the educational institution, including China, Japan, Russia and Korea.

Professor at the Ecole Supérieure de Musique de Paris, Sergei Markarov, is a distinguished pianist who was awarded the title “UNESCO Artist for Peace” in 2002 in recognition of his commitment to UNESCO programs and activities and his contribution to the dialogue of cultures through classical music.
