Aviation research company Skytrax has released its annual ranking of airports based on passenger reviews. At the end of the year, Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar took first place.

On April 27, the rating results were presented at the world's largest exhibition of products and technologies for airports, Passenger Terminal EXPO in Frankfurt. Hamad International Airport has been voted the best in the world, thanks to features such as a huge tropical garden and free Wi-Fi. Singapore's Changi Airport, which previously ranked first, is now in second position, although it has continued to be in the top 3 for the past decade.

The Skytrax World's Best Airports, dubbed the "Oscars of the airport industry," has been published since 1999. In the current ranking, which covers the period from August 2023 to March 2024, Skytrax rated more than 570 airports around the world, including aspects such as check-in, transfers, flight arrivals, shopping and security. The ranking also contains categories for the best regional airports, airports with the largest number of passengers, quality of baggage handling, and more.

This year, the top ten included Incheon Airport in Seoul (3rd place), Haneda and Narita in Tokyo (4th and 5th places), Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (6th), Dubai Airport (7th), Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport (8th), Zurich Airport (9th) and Istanbul Airport (10th). Dubai Airport improved its position in the ranking the most over the year, being in 17th place in 2023.

Among the regional hubs, the best airports were the airports of Melbourne, Baku, Guangzhou, Delhi, Vancouver, Bogota, Helsinki, Budapest and Munich, and Chubu Nagoya was recognized as the best regional airport in the world. The Crown Plaza in Changi was named the best hotel, and the best shopping experience was recognized at Hamad Airport. Houston Airport was recognized for its artwork, and Osaka's Kansai Airport was recognized for its baggage handling. Incheon in Seoul was rated the best for families, while Haneda in Tokyo was the cleanest.
