Turkmenistan has proposed to hold one of the following meetings of the Committee of the International Bureau of Exhibitions in Ashgabat


On April 29, 2024, a regular meeting of the Administrative and Budgetary Committee was held at the office of the Bureau of International Exhibitions (BIE) in Paris. The delegation of Turkmenistan included Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the French Republic, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the BIE Maksat Charyev, Head of the Department of Exhibitions and Fairs of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Kemal Amanov and Head of the Department of Analysis of Foreign Economic Relations of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan Serdar Atagylyjov.

The meeting began with an introductory speech by Karen-Mae Hill, President of the Committee representing Antigua and Barbuda, followed by a welcome speech by Secretary General Dmitry Kerkenztzes. Then the agenda of the meeting was approved and the minutes of the previous meeting, held on October 19, 2023, were ratified. After that, the representative of Gabon was elected Deputy Chairman of the Administrative and Budgetary Committee.

The committee then proceeded to review the auditor’s report for fiscal year 2023, after which the calendar of fees for Expo 2025 Osaka was reviewed. The issue of establishing contributions from new Member States was also included in the agenda, which was discussed.

Also during the meeting, the Turkmen side, in accordance with the “Concept for the development of international exhibition activities of Turkmenistan for 2024-2025” adopted last year, made a proposal to hold one of the sessions of the meeting of the Administrative and Budgetary Committee in Ashgabat. This proposal was approved and accepted positively by the BIE Secretariat and the members of the Committee.
Currently, the Committee consists of Andorra, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda (President), Bangladesh, Cyprus, France, Gabon, Switzerland and Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan was elected a member of the Administrative and Budgetary Committee of the BIE at the 173rd session of the General Assembly last year.
