Experts from Russia and countries of the Islamic world will discuss trends in the development of media content within the framework of Kazanforum-2024

On May 15, a media expert session dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will be held at the KazanForum-2024 site. The participation of heads of news agencies and media companies, famous public and political figures, experts and analysts is planned. This was stated by the organizers of the event.
The session consists of two thematic blocks: “Main trends in the transformation of the information field in the modern world and OIC countries” and “Unification of the information space or its segmentation? (About the situation in the world in general and Muslim countries in particular).”
The Union of News Agencies of the OIC Countries, news agencies of Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan will be represented at a high level. The event will also be attended by representatives of the Moroccan Ministry of Culture and Communications, the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Turkmenistan, the Indonesian State Television, as well as the RT television network, Al-Jazeera and the Yemen Union of Journalists.
Particular attention will be paid to modern technologies - the development of artificial intelligence, the formation of the Internet of things, the use of blockchain and cloud computing, which have a significant impact on all areas of life, automating processes, ensuring the security and confidentiality of data, as well as generating new media content in the way of creation and content.
Based on the results of the discussion, it is planned to develop proposals for a joint plan of practical actions of representatives of the media industry of Russia and the countries of the Islamic world in the global information field. At the end of the session, a solemn ceremony of signing cooperation agreements between media companies of Russia and Islamic states will take place.
The session was organized by the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications “Tatmedia” (Tatarstan, Russian Federation), the Union of Information Agencies of OIC Countries (UNA). The partners of the event were the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-Islamic World” and the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
“The information space is currently undergoing a radical transformation. The very concept of “mainstream” is changing; monopolistic ownership of the news flow is increasingly becoming a thing of the past. One of the main signs of the present is the intensive development of media in the countries of the world majority, accompanied by the growth of Eurasian media giants, to which African journalism is actively involved, increasingly aware of the need to escape the format of mental neocolonialism. Countries that are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are becoming the initiators of the development of their own independent media systems, allowing them to build parity in the global information space based on cooperation and interaction with the outside world,” the message says.
Let us recall that in recent years, KazanForum has become one of the key platforms for discussing trends in the development of the global information space, establishing a productive dialogue in the information sphere, as well as identifying areas of interaction between the OIC countries and the Russian Federation. An integral part of the Forum was the signing of cooperation agreements between media companies.
