China prepares to launch Chang'e-6 lunar probe


China plans to launch the Chang'e-6 lunar module in early May. This was reported by the Chinese National Space Administration.
According to the department, on April 27, the Chang'e-6 lunar probe and the carrier rocket Long March 5 Y8 launch vehicle were delivered in an upright position to the launch pad of the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center in Hainan Province in South China.
Before the launch, functional control, joint tests and refueling of the launch vehicle will be carried out.
Assembly, testing and other preparatory work were completed after the Chang'e-6 lunar probe and the Long March 5 Y8 launch vehicle were delivered to the launch site in January and March this year.
The mission of the Chang'e 6 lunar probe is to collect samples from the far side of the Moon.
