Turkmenistan and China: deepening of cultural interaction
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to China Parahat Durdyev spoke at a high-level conference on the cultural tourism industry in Shandong. The event was held as part of the “Discover the Beauty of China” tour with the participation of representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in China.
In his speech, the diplomat noted the fruitful interaction between Turkmenistan and China in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. With a special emphasis on cooperation with Shandong province, Parahat Durdyev noted that for many years, Turkmenistan and the eastern province of China exchanged knowledge, experience, and traded goods along the Great Silk Road.
Shandong was represented in events held in 2023 as part of the “Year of Culture and Art of the Peoples of Central Asia and China.” In turn, China will widely celebrate the Year of Culture of Turkmenistan.
Shandong is the birthplace of the great thinker and philosopher of ancient China, Confucius, whose rich heritage influenced the further development of Chinese civilization.
The current political philosophy of permanently neutral Turkmenistan is deeply influenced by the legacy of Magtymguly Fragi, whose 300th anniversary is celebrated this year. Like Confucius, Magtymguly also called for peace, good neighborliness, and friendship.
“As the first group of diplomats participating in the “Discover the Beauty of China” tour, we will share the experience and impressions gained in Shandong province with representatives of our peoples,” the Ambassador said.
