The work under the supervision of Altyn Rahmanova, head of the laboratory department, and Berdi Berdiyev, a researcher at the Laboratory of Drug production Technology, took place within the framework of the program of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for 2022-2028 to replace imported drugs with domestic products.

— The flora of Turkmenistan is characterized by a wealth of plant raw materials, — says Altyn Rahmanova, — Unpretentious herbs “Mountain bird” and knotweed take root well in regions with a suitable climate and actively reproduce in the occupied territory. They contain many flavonoids, anthraquinones, tannins, phenolcarbonates, fatty and organic acids, essential oil, carbohydrates in the form of glucose, fructose and sucrose, beta-carotene, vitamin C, etc.

According to the scientist, the knotweed herb has a tonic effect and promotes the recovery of the body after various diseases. Traditional medicine practices the use of avian highlander as a hypotensive, hemostatic and anti-tumor drug. In studies, knotweed grass has shown hypotensive, blood-clotting and antimicrobial properties. It has also been revealed That it increases the number of heartbeats per unit of time.

The herb of the mountain bird has found its application in uterine and hemorrhoidal bleeding, hypertension, stomach and gastrointestinal ulcers, dysentery, pulmonary tuberculosis and malaria. Various drugs are also used for certain types of tumors, urinary and cholelithiasis, fevers, neurasthenia, to maintain the body’s defenses after diseases.

It is also used for common colds, migraines, various diseases of internal organs and systems. Knotweed is added to multicomponent collections for the treatment of gastritis, whooping cough, peptic ulcer and kidney stones, pathologies of the uterus, bronchi and lungs, cystitis and other urinary tract infections. Bird highlander is also used externally for skin diseases, eczema, itching, pathological whites. In official medicine, knotweed is used as an astringent and tonic, as well as a diuretic.
