The EU delegation to Turkmenistan visited animal shelters on Earth Day

As part of the celebration of Earth Day, on April 22, the staff of the European Union Mission in Ashgabat, together with the Nature Protection Society of Turkmenistan, organized a visit to local animal shelters in order to donate food and medicines. In addition, funds will be allocated for the sterilization of some animals to support their health and control the population of stray animals.
Employees of the EU Delegation and the Society for the Protection of Nature, as well as volunteers visited three shelters and spent the day with the animals and their guardians. During the visit, they took touching photos and videos. These visual images will be shared on social media platforms to raise awareness and encourage adoption to help animals find their home and family.

"We are pleased to support animal shelters in Turkmenistan, as they play an important role in providing shelter to homeless animals. I would like to thank our volunteers: their dedication underlines the importance of collective action in creating a better world for all beings," said Renata Wrobel, Charge d'affaires of the EU.
Through visual content posted on social media, the EU would like to raise awareness and involve society in solving the problems faced by stray animals, inspiring action and support from the community.
