The EU delegation to Turkmenistan visited animal shelters on Earth Day

As part of the celebration of Earth Day, on April 22, the staff of the European Union Mission in
Ashgabat, together with the Nature Protection Society of Turkmenistan, organized a visit to local
animal shelters in order to donate food and medicines. In addition, funds will be allocated for the

As part of the celebration of Earth Day, on April 22, the staff of the European Union Mission in Ashgabat, together with the Nature Protection Society of Turkmenistan, organized a visit to local animal shelters in order to donate food and medicines. In addition, funds will be allocated for the sterilization of some animals to support their health and control the population of stray animals.

Employees of the EU Delegation and the Society for the Protection of Nature, as well as volunteers visited three shelters and spent the day with the animals and their guardians. During the visit, they took touching photos and videos. These visual images will be shared on social media platforms to raise awareness and encourage adoption to help animals find their home and family.
