The first Cardiology Congress of the Turkic States began its work in Baku, on Saturday, April 20.

Heads and representatives of scientific and medical institutions specializing in cardiology from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and other countries are taking part in the first Cardiology Congress of the Turkic states, held by the Scientific Research Institute of Cardiology of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan, AZERTAJ reports.

The Congress will provide information on the latest medical innovations in the field of cardiology and lay the foundation for cooperation between the professional medical communities of the Turkic countries. At the opening of the forum, it was proposed to hold the congress annually and alternately in each country of the Turkic world.

The program of the congress in Baku includes plenary and breakout sessions devoted to practical aspects of the application of new medical technologies and achievements of fundamental medicine, clinical discussions, and debates on new clinical research.

Courses in cardiology are organized as part of the event. Thus, during the course "Visualization of the heart in cardiovascular diseases", the effectiveness and importance of modern methods such as MRI, CT angiography of the heart in the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases were discussed interactively. In the course "Innovations in heart defects: transcatheter implantation of the aortic valve (TAVI)", the restoration of heart valve defects by an invasive method without open surgery was demonstrated.
