The Turkmen delegation participated in the ECOSOC Youth Forum
Representatives of Turkmenistan took part in the Youth Forum of the UN Economic and Social Council. The event took place in a hybrid format at the UN headquarters in New York from April 16 to 18.
The theme of this year's forum is “Building a stronger recovery from COVID-19 while moving towards full implementation of the 2030 Agenda.”
Its goal is to unite the efforts of young people to build a more equitable and sustainable future, find solutions to overcome the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, accelerate progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and involve youth in decision-making.
The head of the international cooperation department of the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly Begench Khalnepesov and third-year student of the International University for Humanities and Development Maral Allaberdyeva, who were representatives of the delegation of Turkmenistan, actively participated in the discussions.
The 2024 Forum has become a fruitful platform for exchanging ideas and developing solutions. Forum participants adopted a statement outlining their recommendations to improve the recovery from COVID-19 and accelerate achievement of the SDGs.
The UN ECOSOC Youth Forum is a global platform for dialogue between states and young leaders from around the world on issues affecting the well-being of youth.
