The ferry from Turkmenbashi, having delivered tomatoes to the Astrakhan port, returns with cheeses

The first batch of fresh tomatoes from Turkmenistan arrived in Russia directly by sea via the North-South INSTC at the Olya checkpoint. This is the first ferry flight from the port of Turkmenbashi with 40 cars with trailers, in the cargo compartments of which there are fresh tomatoes. Special container bodies with the required temperature were used to transport perishable goods, Astrakhan media reported on Thursday.
A batch of 800 tons of tomatoes was exported to Russia by Turkmen entrepreneurs. Now the delicious vegetables that have traveled the Caspian Sea will go to the tables of Russians.
More than 80 transit declarations have been submitted to the customs post of the Sea port of Olya of the Astrakhan Customs for further shipment of goods to Russian cities. The staff of the post also carried out transport control in relation to cars: they checked the documents for compliance and seals for integrity, issued transit declarations as soon as possible.
On the return flight to Turkmenistan, the Bagtyyar ferry set off with 800 tons of Belarusian cheeses, Russian dairy products and consumer goods in 42 cargo vehicles.
The launch of the ferry line opens up new prospects for trade between Turkmenistan and Russia, strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
