Novruz was celebrated at the SCO Secretariat
On April 16, the annual festival of spring and friendship on the occasion of the Nowruz holiday was held at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The event was held with the participation of heads of diplomatic missions of member states, observers and dialogue partners of the SCO, representatives of government bodies of the People's Republic of China, as well as employees of international and regional organizations.
Speaking to the audience, SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming drew the guests' attention to the consonance of the holiday with the principles of the “Shanghai spirit” in strengthening good neighborliness between the countries of the region, its role in promoting the harmonious coexistence of ethnic groups and religions, and stimulating intercultural and intercivilizational dialogue.
Guests of the holiday were able to get acquainted with objects of decorative and applied art and try dishes of the countries in which Novruz is celebrated.
