Another round of political consultations between Turkmenistan and the United States was held in Ashgabat

The next round of annual political consultations between Turkmenistan and the United States took place on Sunday, April 14, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. At the meeting, the sides discussed the state and prospects of Turkmen-American relations, exchanged views on topical issues on the international agenda, regional and global security.

Along with political issues, trade and economic sphere, ecology and humanitarian dialogue were noted among the priority areas of bilateral cooperation. In this context, the importance of holding monthly meetings at the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the approval of the roadmap in this area was noted. The importance of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of education was stated, confirming the commitment of Turkmenistan and the United States to joint cultural and educational programs.

The meeting participants also reaffirmed their support for the C5+1 multilateral diplomatic platform.

The parties stressed that solving environmental problems is an important factor in sustainable socio-economic development. The American delegation welcomed Turkmenistan's accession to the Global Methane Commitment.
