The State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan will perform in Paris in honor of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly
In honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly, the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan will perform a concert in Paris, the Permanent Representation of Turkmenistan to UNESCO reports.
The gala concert will take place on April 24 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
Works of Turkmen classics will be performed on stage, and the Kushtdepdi dance, included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, will be performed.
From April 22 to 26, 2024, an exhibition entitled “Magtymguly Fragi and the cultural heritage of Turkmenistan” will also open at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. It was organized by the Permanent Representation of Turkmenistan to UNESCO together with the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan.
The exhibition will feature the poet's manuscripts, allowing visitors to discover his rich literary heritage. Guests will also get acquainted with the decorative and applied arts of Turkmenistan - carpets, jewelry, clothing and musical instruments will be presented.
As part of the opening ceremony of the exhibition, a display of traditional Turkmen clothing will take place.
