Turkmen citizens are the leaders in the list of business tourists visiting Uzbekistan

In January–February 2024, 16.9 thousand foreign citizens entered Uzbekistan for commercial purposes, among which the largest number is in Turkmenistan – 12 thousand, the online publication Daryo reports, citing data from the Statistics Agency under the President of Uzbekistan.
Next are residents of Tajikistan – 2.9 thousand people; Afghanistan – 582; China – 260 and Turkey – 243. According to the results of last year, out of 70.4 thousand foreign business tourists of Uzbekistan, Turkmen citizens were also in the lead – 46.5 thousand.
“About 300,000 ethnic Uzbeks live in Turkmenistan, and more than 200,000 Turkmen live in Uzbekistan,” the newspaper notes.
