The maritime merchant fleet of Turkmenistan has released its figures for the first quarter
The total volume of cargo transportation in January-March 2024 by vessels of the Merchant Marine Fleet of Turkmenistan exceeded the level of the same period of the last year by 14.1% and amounted to 586.5 thousand tons. The fleet's cargo transportation plan for the first quarter was fulfilled by 133.3%, the department reported.
Cargo turnover for January-March 2024 amounted to 236.096 million ton- kilometers, which is 4.2% higher than last year’s base value, and the cargo turnover plan was fulfilled by 188%.
Passenger turnover increased by 44.5% compared to the corresponding period in 2023 and amounted to 1.910 million passenger kilometers. The fulfillment of plan made 355%.
The number of containers transported is 1879 TEU with a growth rate of 184.4%.
