Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan received equipment for conducting online meetings and trainings
The Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), funded by the European Union, donated three sets of videoconferencing equipment to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan for a total amount of 7 thousand 927 euros.
Specifically, video conferencing equipment includes a camera, microphones and speakers, a laptop, and a TV. This, in turn, provides the latest technical solutions for conducting online workshops, including operational investigative groups, as well as for distance learning courses and seminars, conferences on public safety issues, in particular on preventing and combating transnational organized crime, illicit trafficking drugs, human trafficking and other types of crimes at the border and within the country.
These assets were acquired under Component 2 of the BOMCA 10 Program “Increasing capacity to detect violations” in order to support law enforcement agencies in investigations of cross-border crimes.
From April 2 to 4, in Almaty, the Central Asia Border Management Assistance Program held a regional workshop on integrating risk management into the phytosanitary import control process.
The event is organized for agencies involved in phytosanitary control of imports and exports and aims to provide international experience in sanitary and phytosanitary risk management and investigations. In addition, the workshop supported competent authorities in developing a customized national import control monitoring plan based on a risk analysis of the country-specific situation.
Based on the results of the event, recommendations will be developed on risk management principles for integration into existing phytosanitary import control processes. Subsequently, they will be provided to participating departments for further analysis and inclusion in official documents.
