Saudi Arabia will have the world's largest airport

As part of its efforts to boost tourism in the Kingdom, Saudi Arabia is embarking on construction of the world's largest airport in terms of passenger numbers.
The capacity of King Salman International Airport in Riyadh will be 120 million passengers per year.
The airport will have 4 terminals and 6 runways. Also on its territory, there will be bicycle paths and gardens, and a separate cargo terminal will be created.
The airport will open in 2030. By 2050, the number of passengers will reach 185 million. To increase passenger traffic, it is planned to increase the number of flights immediately after the airport is put into operation.
The famous British architectural firm Foster + Partners received the order to design and plan the King Salman International Airport. It entered into a contract with the British company Mace Group, which has a long-term contract with London Heathrow Airport.
