On May 13-17, Kazakhstan will host a plenary meeting of the Joint Committee of Aviation Authorities on the Development of regulatory documents on unmanned Aircraft systems (Joint Authorities for Rulemaking Unmanned Systems – JARUS).

The event with the participation of representatives of the organization's members from 65 countries, international organizations and Central Asian states will be dedicated to the promotion of harmonized rules in the field of unmanned aviation.

The participants will discuss proposals for the development of standards for regulating the use of unmanned aircraft systems by 4 working groups in the following areas: licensing and operation, airworthiness, risk management, regulation of autonomous operations.

The Joint Committee consists of a group of experts from national aviation authorities around the world developing proposals for regulating the use of unmanned aircraft systems.

In July 2023, Kazakhstan, the first of the Central Asian countries, became the 66th member of this organization. Currently, the Republic is the Vice-Chairman of JARUS in the Asia/Australia region.

JARUS serves as a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experience and best practices in the field of regulation of unmanned aircraft and solving urgent problems.
