The international beauty contest of Ahal-Teke horses, as well as contests among artists, sculptors, carpet makers, jewelers, photographers, publishing house employees, designers, videographers will be held on April 27 in the city of Arkadag. The order was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Turkmen State Television news outlet reported.
These contests are traditionally held in honor of the National Holiday of the Turkmen horse, celebrated on the last Sunday of April. The day before, on Saturday, the results of the competitions are summed up and awards are solemnly presented to the winners. This year, the holiday falls on April 28. For the first time, the finals of the competitions will be held in the city of Arkadag.
The International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annaev and the Scientific and Production Center of Horse Breeding, the Gerogly State Equestrian Circus have been established in the new city. A monument to the horse Akhan, listed in the Guinness Book of Records, has been erected in the city of national importance. The town of Arkadag includes a settlement for horse breeders named after Aba Annaev.
