President Serdar Berdimuhamedov welcomed the interest of American business in Turkmenistan
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Eric Stewart, Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council, on Thursday, April 4.
Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of relations with the United States based on the principles of mutual respect, trust and mutual understanding, it was noted at the meeting. The Head of State appreciated the contribution of American companies to unlocking the economic opportunities of Turkmenistan, naming as an example the long-term activities of such corporations as Boeing, General Electric, John Deere and Chase New Holland in the country, as reported in the evening news release of the Turkmen State Television.
The role of the Turkmenistan–USA Business Council in the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries was emphasized. Well-known US companies are successfully operating in the Turkmen market in strategic sectors, and more and more representatives of American business are showing interest in this market, it was said at the meeting.
Today, new prospects are opening up for the intensification of cooperation, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said. Among the relevant areas are the oil and gas sector, electric power, renewable energy, transport and communications, agro–industrial complex, high technology and others.
The President noted that Turkmenistan welcomes the expansion of effective cooperation with the US business community and is ready to consider specific proposals from their side.
