The Balkan shipyard received IMO numbers for new bulk carriers from the International Maritime Organization

On Friday, April 5, the Balkan shipbuilding and ship repair plant received IMO numbers (unique vessel identifier) from the International Maritime Organization for two bulk carriers with a carrying capacity of 6,100 tons, which will be built jointly with the South Korean company Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co., Ltd.
In 1987, Resolution A.600(15) adopted the International Maritime Organization (IMO) number on ships and floating structures to prevent danger, pollution and fraud at sea.
Regardless of the form of ownership and state of the flag, this number must be on the ship during the entire period of use of the ship.
Based on a decision taken by the International Maritime Organization in 1994, it was considered mandatory for passenger ships of up to 100 gross tonnage and all cargo ships of 300 gross tonnage, as specified in SOLAS chapter XI/3. This decision came into force on 01/01/1996 and this number became mandatory on ships.
According to the plant's press service, these are numbers 1061154 and 1061154B.
