Turkmenistan and Pakistan to exchange delegations to develop trade relations


The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Islamabad, Atajan Movlamov, met with the Federal Minister of Commerce of Pakistan, Jam Kamal Khan, discussing with him ways to strengthen trade relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, Minister Jam Kamal stressed Pakistan's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Turkmenistan, especially in the field of trade, for the mutual benefit of both countries, according to a published press release.
Considering various aspects of Turkmen-Pakistani relations, the parties stressed that cooperation between the two states is based on the principles of mutual respect and equality, and expressed interest in increasing trade volumes with an emphasis on exploring new routes and an Agreement on transit Trade.
Ambassador Movlamov noted Turkmenistan's ability to offer economically more profitable electricity compared to local production in Pakistan, and also stressed the potential for cooperation in energy sectors such as liquefied petroleum gas.
Minister Jam Kamal expressed optimism about the imminent signing of the Transit Trade Agreement between the two countries, which is in the final stage and will be signed either in Islamabad or Ashgabat.
Both officials agreed on the importance of exchanging delegations to facilitate coordination and accelerate the completion of the Agreement and to boost trade between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.
