Turkmenistan can host the world’s largest rally-raid competition “Silk Road” on its territory. This was reported on the website of the "Turkmenavtoulaglary" agency.

This issue was discussed during a meeting with the project delegation in Ashgabat.

Chairman of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan Allaberdi Saparov discussed with the project development director Sergei Tukmanov and first deputy project manager Viktor Sokolov key issues regarding the organization of an international rally in the country. In particular, developing the route, ensuring the safety of participants, medical care and organizing communications during the races.

The competition is scheduled for the period from September 9 to 15 of this year.

The Silk Road International Rally project dates back to 2009. It unites not only the regions of Russia, but also the countries of Eurasia. The race took place across the territory of such countries as Russia, Turkmenistan, China, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia.

The general partners of the project are PJSC Gazprom and the Chinese Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Federation.

Previously, Turkmenistan successfully held the international rally “Amul-Khazar 2018”.
