The Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting with famous Russian journalist, deputy head of TASS Mikhail Gusman
On Thursday, March 28, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the First Deputy Director General of the Russian news agency TASS, Mikhail Gusman. The negotiations were held by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, who discussed with the guest the key areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of media.
It was noted that the basis of this interaction is the Memorandum of Cooperation on the exchange of news materials between the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) and TASS. An important factor in the partnership in prompt coverage of events in Turkmenistan was the accreditation of a TASS correspondent at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
“Also, the Turkmen side emphasized that the establishment and development of partnerships of Turkmenistan in the field of information policy and media is one of the primary tasks identified by the President of Turkmenistan in order to increase the level of international cooperation in this area, further integrate national media into the global information space and comprehensive coverage of life of the country, interstate relations, increasing the authority of the Turkmen state in the international arena,” the press release of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry notes.
