The head of the Khalk Maslakhaty voiced proposals to Korean companies for projects in Turkmenistan
Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during a meeting with representatives of the business community of the Republic of Korea, held on Wednesday, March 27, focused on the possibilities of expanding cooperation on the development of the Galkynysh gas field, intensifying the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline and in other areas.
In particular, the National Leader of the Turkmen people voiced proposals regarding joint work on the fourth stage of development of the Galkynysh field and the construction of a training center in Turkmenistan to teach young people the Korean language, TDH said.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that with the participation of Korean partners, a gas desulfurization plant was built at the Galkynysh field, installations for the production of high-octane gasoline at the Turkmenistan Oil Refinery Plant and a gas chemical complex for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene in the Balkan region.
In general, the partnership with leading Korean companies that work productively in the petrochemical, gas processing, motor transport and other sectors of the Turkmen economy was highly appreciated.
Recently, the Balkan shipbuilding and ship repair plant signed a contract with Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co., Ltd for the joint construction of two dry cargo ships with a lifting capacity of 6,100 tons. At the same time, measures are being taken to certify the Balkan plant according to international ISO standards.
Transport and logistics are named among the strategic areas of cooperation. In this regard, plans to launch direct flights between the two states were noted.
Korean businessmen expressed their readiness to take part in large-scale infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan. President and CEO of Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. Hong Hyong Song also conveyed greetings from the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea and from the head of the Turkmen-Korean Friendship Group from the Korean side to the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan.
