The energy sector is named as one of the priority areas: Turkmenistan, possessing huge reserves of natural gas, is ready to diversify its supplies in the ECO space.

Another important vector is transport and logistics interaction. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov invited the ECO to take a more active role in realizing the transit potential of Turkmenistan using the North-South and East-West corridors.

During his visit to Ashgabat, the ECO Secretary General took part in an international conference on the tourism opportunities of Turkmenistan and the launch ceremony of events within the framework of the program “Anau - the cultural capital of the Turkic world 2024”.

ECO members are: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
