The new Ambassador of Venezuela presented his credentials to the Speaker of the Turkmen Parliament


New Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Ashgabat, with residence in Baku, Christopher Alberto Martinez Berroteran, on Wednesday, March 27, presented his credentials to the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Duntyagozel Gulmanova.
On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the speaker congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his work to strengthen friendly relations and effective interstate dialogue.
The parties noted the results achieved in the development of cooperation in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as at the parliamentary level, and expressed their readiness to support intergovernmental cooperation through parliamentary diplomacy, strengthen the legal foundations of these relations, and exchange experience in lawmaking.
Before the meeting at the Mejlis, the Venezuelan Ambassador in Ashgabat met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmed Gurbanov, to whom he presented copies of his credentials.

Diplomats discussed the agenda of Turkmen-Venezuelan relations, covering various areas, and emphasized the constructive cooperation of the two countries in the international arena, providing equal support to each other. The interlocutors expressed a common opinion on the importance of expanding trade and economic ties in such areas as energy, oil and gas, green technologies and agriculture.
Cooperation in the field of culture and education between Venezuela and Turkmenistan was also touched upon, including the exchange of cultural programs and initiatives, the organization of educational projects, and joint events in these areas.
As part of his visit to Ashgabat, Ambassador Alberto Martinez Berroteran held negotiations at the Ministry of Education and also visited the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The Venezuelan diplomat is also scheduled to meet in Ashgabat with the Ministry of Culture and the State Committee for Sports and Physical Culture.
