Mumbai becomes Asia's new «billionaire capital»

The Indian city of Mumbai has become the city with the largest number of billionaires in Asia.

This report was published by the Nikkei Asia news agency based on data from the Hurun Research Institute.

According to this indicator, India's largest city ranks third in the world after New York (119 billionaires) and London (97 billionaires).

There are only 271 billionaires in all of India.

Mumbai - also known as Bombay (until 1995) is considered the “Indian Manhattan”, the birthplace of “Indian Hollywood” - Bollywood, the center of the country’s film industry.

Mumbai, which is the commercial center of India, is spread over seven islands. In 2023, the city's economy grew by 7.5%.
