Turkmen sambo wrestlers begin performances at the “Founders’ Cup of Sambo” in Moscow

The traditional tournament – “Founders’ Cup of Sambo” – starts at the International Sambo Center in Moscow.

More than 250 sambists from thirteen countries will take part in the competition: Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the Republic of Korea and Russia.

Athletes will compete for 21 sets of awards (seven each in men's and women's sports sambo, as well as seven in combat sambo). On the first day of competition, men will identify the best in the categories up to 64, 79 and 98 kg; women will determine the strongest in weights up to 54, 65 and 80 kg; and in combat sambo there will be fights in the categories up to 58, 71 and 88 kg, as well as over 98 kg.

The Turkmen team included Jennet Orunova, Dzhemal Ovlyakuliyeva, Saodat Ishmuradova, Niyazmyrat Babekov, Nedir Allabberdyev, Nurberdykhan Orazmammedov, Alikhan Aydogdyev, Kambar Umarov, Agasapar Mukhadov.
