During the visit to Italy, the Turkmen delegation held a number of negotiations


A delegation of Turkmenistan led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov paid a visit to Rome on March 20, where they held negotiations with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
The foreign ministers discussed the development of bilateral relations in political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas. Positive interaction was noted within international organizations, in particular the UN. The parties also exchanged views on the international and regional agenda, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
During the meeting, a Cooperation Program was signed between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Italy for 2024-2025.
In addition, negotiations between members of the Turkmen delegation and representatives of international organizations took place in Rome. Rashid Meredov met with President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development Alvaro Lario, discussing with him the prospects for cooperation.
A meeting was also held with Deputy Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Maurizio Martina. The parties discussed joint current and planned projects. Turkmenistan's interest in strengthening cooperation in the field of food security in the context of climate change was especially noted. The parties agreed to explore new areas of cooperation in the field of agriculture.
