Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated on National Spring Holiday - International Novruz Day
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated his compatriots on the National Spring Holiday - International Novruz Day.
“Novruz, which occupies a special place in the life of the peoples of the East, is a holiday of humanism, unity and brotherhood,” the head of state noted in his address to the people.
“Associated with revival, prosperity and renewal of life, Novruz has special significance in the formation of good relations between peoples,” the President emphasized.
The historical significance of the spring holiday is reflected in the works of the classics of the East - Dovletmammet Azadi, Magtymguly Fragi, Nurmuhammed Andalib, Abu Reyhan Biruni, Omar Khayyam, Alisher Navoi, Abdyrakhman Jami, Firdousi, Mahmyt Kashgarly and others, the head of state recalled.
By resolution of the UN General Assembly, March 21 was declared International Novruz Day. The traditions of the Novruz holiday are included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Occupying a special place at the international level, this day contributes to the improvement of cultural and humanitarian traditions in the world, strengthening friendly and fraternal ties between peoples.
Independent Turkmenistan, being committed to the principles of permanent neutrality, effectively and consistently develops relations with the countries of the world. The widespread celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great thinker and classical poet of the East Magtymguly Fragi increases the historical significance of International Novruz Day, the head of state noted in his address.
At the 39th meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY, held in Bursa in 2022, it was decided to proclaim 2024 as the “Year of the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World - Magtymguly Fragi”, and the ancient city of Anau as the “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World”.
“The opening ceremony of the events that will be held in honor of the awarding of such a prestigious title to the city of Anau and the celebrations that will be held jointly with TURKSOY in connection with the National Spring Holiday - International Novruz Day, is a unique symbol of our country achieving new heights in political, social and cultural life . This is clearly demonstrated by the celebrations held in the spirit of friendship and brotherhood on the hospitable Turkmen land,” the head of state said in his address.
“Let the motives of Novruz merge into the music of unity, peace and beauty, which will fill hearts with inspiration and happiness!”, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov concluded his festive message to the people.
