Italy and Turkmenistan have signed two transport agreements

Italy and Turkmenistan have agreed on cooperation in the field of rail transport, port and maritime communications within the framework of agreements signed during negotiations between Italian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Matteo Salvini and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister Rashid Meredov on Wednesday.
Transport cooperation and ties between Italy and Turkmenistan were at the center of the "warm" talks, the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport said in a statement.
Two memorandums of understanding were signed with the Turkmen side - with the Office of the Port System of the Central part of the Tyrrhenian Sea and with the Italian railway network Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) regarding cooperation between ports, maritime communications and in the field of railway systems and intermodal hubs, respectively.
The agreements are designed to stimulate cooperation between the ports of Italy and Turkmenistan and transport links between the two countries.
