The USA and Taliban have discussed the beginning of Inter-Afghan negotiations

US State Secretary Mike Pompeo held a videoconference with Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Head of the Political Office of the Taliban in Qatar. As the Suhail Shaheen, a spokesperson for the political office of the movement informed, during the conversation the sides discussed the current situation in Afghanistan and the beginning of the Inter-Afghani negotiations. As he said, Pompeo and Baradar underlined that release of all Taliban prisoners is of great importance to start an Intra-Afghani dialogue. Let's remind, earlier the government of IRA refused to release 400 captives from the list presented by the Taliban because of their participation in serious crimes. In the meantime US President Donald Trump has once again stated his intention to reduce a contingent in Afghanistan. The head of the state noted that shortly Washington will reduce the number of the contingent up to 4 thousand military men. However, he did not specify the exact time of reduction of troops.
