The lab will initially focus on developing chips for large language models.

As the head of the relevant division of the South Korean company commented, Samsung aims to release new “chip designs that will provide higher performance at a reasonable cost and moderate power consumption.

When developing its AI chips, Samsung will focus on the ability of such accelerators to make logical conclusions (inference).
