Qatar's Al-Sharq spoke about a new step in media cooperation between Doha and Ashgabat


The Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq in today's issue, March 19, told readers about the signing of a Memorandum with the Turkmen online publication ORIENT, with which it agreed to exchange news materials.
The signing took place in Doha the day before, on March 18, during a meeting between the heads of two media outlets - Director General of the Media-Turkmen Agency Bekdurdy Amansaryev and the Editor-in-Chief of the Al-Sharq newspaper Jaber Salem al-Harmi.
The Al-Sharq publication states that this agreement was a step towards the development of media cooperation between Qatar and Turkmenistan, based on common approaches to the implementation of plans for bilateral interaction, enshrined in high-level agreements, including within the framework of the visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Doha was exactly one year ago, March 19-20, 2023.
Then the readiness to increase the volume of mutual trade turnover, study the possibilities of joint projects in such areas as energy, development of oil and gas resources of the Caspian Sea, creation of high-tech production in the petrochemical and gas chemical industries, agricultural complex, textile industry, transport and infrastructure sector, etc. was confirmed. In general, the range of cooperation is quite wide.
The intensification of joint activities in the field of media should become an important factor promoting rapprochement and mutual understanding, strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two peoples, and an equal, open and trusting partnership between countries.
The parties to the signed memorandum intend to promote information exchange both through the Al-Sharq newspaper and through their digital platforms, highlighting issues that are significant on the agenda of both states and playing the role of its media conductors.
