A telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
On his own behalf and on behalf of the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Head of State congratulated Vladimir Putin on his convincing victory in the presidential elections of the Russian Federation.
"Your re–election to this top post is an indicator of the high trust shown to you and recognition of your services to the country," the TDH news agency quoted Serdar Berdimuhamedov as saying.
During the conversation, the parties noted with satisfaction that relations between Turkmenistan and Russia are currently at a high level. Based on long-standing bonds of friendship, trust and mutual understanding, they are consistently developing in a wide range of directions.
According to the general opinion, trade and economic ties occupy a special place on the agenda of the Turkmen-Russian partnership. Energy, trade, transport and agriculture have received new developments in this dialogue in recent years. At the same time, cultural, humanitarian and interparliamentary cooperation, direct contacts between Turkmenistan and the subjects of the Russian Federation are actively supported.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to his Russian counterpart for his personal contribution to strengthening friendship between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, expressing deep conviction that mutually beneficial cooperation will continue to increase.
