ORIENT signed a memorandum with the largest newspaper in Qatar
The ORIENT website of the Media-Turkmen news agency and the largest daily newspaper in Qatar - Al Sharq signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the exchange of news materials. The signing ceremony took place in Doha on Monday, March 18, during a meeting between the heads of the two media outlets.
Director General of the Media-Turkmen agency Bekdurdy Amansaryev and chief editor of the Al-Sharq newspaper Jaber Salem al-Harmi spoke about current topics and subjects of information interaction. These are, first of all, those directions of interstate dialogue that were set during bilateral summit talks.
These include the oil and gas sector, water issues, the transport sector, etc. But not only economic aspects are on the agenda for information cooperation; it also covers culture, tourism, education and science, sports, nature and much more.
The meeting took place in a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Mutual understanding was established immediately and helped to identify points of convergence of interests in a wide range of journalistic work in order to promote further intensification of relations between Turkmenistan and Qatar, highlighting the achievements of the two countries in their development.
Bekdurdy Amansaryev and Jaber Salem al-Harmi also noted that the signing of the memorandum took place during the holy month of Ramadan, which in itself is a symbol of the successful start of a new business.
There is another symbolic coincidence - in the names ORIENT and Al Sharq, which in both cases means “East”.
At the end of the meeting, Jaber Salem al-Harmi expressed his readiness, on behalf of Al Sharq, to host Turkmen colleagues from ORIENT to develop established contacts and exchange professional experience.
The Director General of Media-Turkmen was also acquainted with the organization of the activities of the Al-Sharq newspaper, which keeps pace with the rapid changes in the world of the media industry, especially after the advent of social networks.
