The Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Bishkek and the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan held a meeting

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Bishkek Nury Golliyev and the Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic Taalaibek Ibrayev held a meeting last week, exchanging views on promising projects in the oil and gas sector.
The press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry noted that the parties noted the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation and expressed interest in further deepening partnership in the field of energy and trade.
Ibrayev expressed gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for the humanitarian cargo sent in February this year in the form of tanks with liquefied gas in connection with the accident at the Bishkek CHP.
Attention was also paid to the elaboration of common issues within the framework of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kyrgyz Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation.
Earlier, Kyrgyz Ambassador to Ashgabat Azizbek Madmarov noted successful cooperation in the energy sector. Turkmenistan supplies Kyrgyzstan with electricity, gasoline and jet fuel. Kyrgyzstan sends electrical goods such as incandescent lamps, diodes and semiconductors to Turkmenistan.
In general, the trade turnover between the Kyrgyz Republic and Turkmenistan is growing and, according to the ambassador, the amount of about 100 million US dollars is expected for 2023. At the same time, there is still a large untapped potential, as evidenced by the fact that last year the embassy issued a very large number of business visas to citizens of Turkmenistan.
