More international students to receive Japanese Government Scholarship

From April this year, the Japanese government will increase the number of students eligible to receive scholarships.
Between 500 and 1,000 students are expected to receive scholarships, which are provided in the form of a grant.
Currently, scholarships provided by the Japan Student Aid Organization (JASSO) are only available to citizens of the Land of the Rising Sun and foreign citizens holding permanent resident visas.
The Major and Minor Honorary Scholarship Program for International Students is administered by JASSO with the support of the Government of Japan. The monthly amount is 48,000 yen (about 440 US dollars). You can apply for the main scholarship through your educational institution (Japanese university).
