Turkmenistan is entering the cotton sowing season. The campaign starts on March 20 in the Akhal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary regions. A week later, on March 27, they will be joined by the northern region of the country – Dashoguz.

The dates for the start of sowing in the regions were announced on Friday at a meeting of the Turkmen government by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The start ceremony of the spring campaign will be traditionally held with the participation of the elders of the people.

The Head of State wished cotton growers and all agricultural workers great success in their work, the Turkmen State Television news outlet reported.
