The Ambassador of Germany to Turkmenistan completes his working mission


On Thursday, March 14, there was held a meeting between head of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to the country, Michael Bierhoff, who is completing his diplomatic mission.
During the meeting, the parties discussed further intensification of bilateral cooperation, and also noted the fruitful results of many years of cooperation. The role of the agreements concluded following the visit of Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Germany in September last year to participate in multilateral meetings of the “Central Asia - Germany” format was also emphasized.
Having discussed partnership in the trade and economic sector, diplomats agreed on the effectiveness of the Turkmen-German working group on economic cooperation as a key mechanism for establishing and maintaining close business contacts.
The interlocutors also noted the growth of cooperation in the field of cultural education, mentioning in this context the widespread study of the German language in the country, partnerships with German academic organizations and the holding of cultural events. The need to continue close cooperation in the healthcare sector was also noted.
At the end of the meeting, Rashid Meredov expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for his personal contribution to the development of Turkmen-German relations, and Michael Bierhoff, in turn, thanked the head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry for his active support in the framework of the diplomatic mission in the country.
