Uzbekistan will involve youth in solving environmental and climate problems, the Podrobno.uz news agency reports.

As the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic said, a Youth Council of 75 people will be created under the department.

Environment ambassadors will appear in each region of Uzbekistan, who, with the support of the Youth Council, will develop regional maps of environmental problems.

Also, various environmental events will be organized for representatives of the younger generation, including the EduCo festival, “clean” games, and plogging (an eco-movement in which jogging is combined with garbage collection).

As the Minister of Environment of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov noted, youth are the driving force of change. Therefore, the energy, activity and creativity of the younger generation are key to shaping a future that is sustainable and green.

As part of attracting young people to solve problems of environmental protection, charity trips to regional schools have already taken place in the republic with the distribution of books about ecology in Braille.
