Turkmenistan is interested in studying the experience of hydrogen energy in Austria
The European vector has been and remains on the agenda of international energy cooperation of Turkmenistan, this was stated at an event with the participation of the Turkmen delegation and Austrian business circles, which was held in Vienna, at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber on March 12.
Turkmenistan confirmed its position on gas supplies to Europe through the construction of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline. It was noted that a lot has been done for this over the past 15 years, a systematic partnership has been built with the European Union.
The same priority direction for the country is the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline in the southern direction. And the Turkmen side welcomes the interested participation of Austrian companies in these and other gas projects.
Austrian business was also invited to consider the possibility of working in oil and gas fields in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.
Turkmenistan is ready to discuss the supply of machinery and equipment from Austrian producers to increase gas production capacity, expand the multi-variant gas transportation infrastructure, which will ensure the supply of Turkmen natural gas to world markets.
In addition, interaction on renewable energy sources, in reducing methane emissions into the atmosphere, and utilization of associated gas at hydrocarbon resource fields is seen as a relevant track.
Having declared its accession to the Global Methane Commitment and supporting the efforts of the international community to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Turkmenistan is moving to the use of modern environmentally friendly and resource-saving technologies in industry and transport. In this context, the country’s interest was stated in studying the experience of Austrian hydrogen energy in order to create high-tech production facilities in Turkmenistan.
