Volvo will reduce charging time for electric vehicles by 30%
The Swedish company Volvo Cars, specializing in the production of passenger electric vehicles, will reduce the charging time of these vehicles by 15-30%.
Since the beginning of 2018, the company has been actively investing in promising startups developing advanced technologies that can improve the functionality of its cars.
One such company was a British startup software developer.
The British organization, born in the bowels of Imperial College London, uses innovative algorithms to optimize the charging process. The technology it proposed, Breathe Battery Technologies, is capable of dynamically controlling the flow of energy in real time. In turn, car owners can expect savings in charging time throughout the life of their vehicles and, therefore, a longer service life.
The peculiarity of the technology is the use of feedback from sensors built into the battery. This will allow embedded processors and software algorithms to offer the charging mode that is most suitable for each specific instance of the traction battery.
